My two older brothers have recently decided to join the Marine Corps, one of the most respective branches of the military. My older brother went to bootcamp 7 weeks ago. He is in his second phase, has cried, written several letters saying he was sorry. Sorry that he took life for granted, was lazy, carefree. The core may break you down, but they sure as hell build you back up. Stronger. Wiser. A better you. To serve, protect and honor your country. That's how it should be. My oldest brother is leaving tomorrow. I miss ( though i'll never admit it aloud) both of them already. They may be buttheads but they'restill my flesh and blood and though it only runs so deep, it cuts deep enough to my heart.
I am going to join too. I'm scared but since there isn't much choice for college, right now at least, i choose to do my life right.
Do any of you have honorable blood flowing through your veins or your family tree? Any branch, no matter the jokes or puns.
Even the Army and National Guard have there uses.
